DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative
Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His
sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His
shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of
the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the
Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the
Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are
saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection
of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in Christ's Great Commission to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, making disciples, baptizing and teaching. (Matthew 28:18-20)
We believe that every human being has direct relationship with God, and is
responsible to God alone in all matters of faith; that each church is
independent and autonomous and must be free from interference by any
ecclesiastical or political authority; that, therefore, Church and State must be
kept separate as having different function, each fulfilling its duties, free
from the dictation or patronage of the other.

SUMMER STAFF
BEHAVIOR STANDARDS
Apple Dumplin' Camp is a Christian camp. Staff members are to have a credible
Christian testimony and, to the best of their abilities, with the help of the
Holy Spirit, are to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with biblical
standards and the good reputation of the camp, including, but not limited to:
Humble service and consideration of the needs of others first (both staff and campers), which are basic Christian attitudes following the example of Christ
Willing cooperation with requests of supervisors; supervisors should be willing to consider requests, complaints and suggestions from subordinates
Attitudes and behavior toward campers and other staff members which are
considerate, positive, helpful and patient; gossip, put-downs, critical
conversation and angry outbursts are not permitted
Not interfering with the camp program; be careful with noise (from equipment
and loud talking)
Treating camp and personal property with careful respect; stealing is
prohibited
Abiding by both relevant laws and biblical instruction with regard to interaction with campers. Child abuse (physical, sexual, psychological) is a special concern in our society.
Being alone with campers is discouraged. Physical contact with campers should
be discreet to avoid even the suspicion of misbehavior
Avoiding the use of alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs and the abuse of other
substances; these are not permitted during volunteering/employment by Apple
Dumplin' Camp
Avoiding the use of electronic media for entertainment in order to maximize
personal interaction and minimize the negative influence of much secular
programming
Dressing modestly and appropriately for the situation
Demonstrating love for all people consistently; joy in their relationship
with Christ & in their ministry at Apple Dumplin' Camp; peace rather than
agitation in the face of the many difficulties associated with camp life &
group living; kindness, especially to those who need help & encouragement;
goodness, that is, Christ likeness; faithfulness in carrying out all
responsibilities to God & to the ministry of Apple Dumplin' Camp; gentleness
in speech & in all dealings with campers & staff; self-control in
temper, tongue & body; honesty, never speaking anything but the truth
Realizing that staff members may not date campers, and that relationships
with other staff members must not interfere with work. Do not allow a
relationship to rob you of other friendships. Do not allow public displays of
affection to become a bad example or an occasion for excessive curiosity or
speculation by campers
Recognizing that staff members are to practice Biblical sexual ethics,
abstaining from sexual relations outside of marriage. Lewd or suggestive talk is
to be avoided.
If there is a serious breach of a staff member's responsibility in job or
lifestyle & all reasonable efforts have been made to resolve the problem by
the supervisor, the camp director, and the individual involved, the staff member
may be relieved of his/her responsibility & asked to leave.
