The "Paving the Way Brick by Brick" campaign has officially started with the sale of our first brick! For forty years, Roy and Ellen Brigman served as directors of Camp Roy-El. Through their tireless efforts, hundreds of children with disabilities were able to experience the joy of summer camp in northern Michigan. One of the founders of Apple Dumplin'' Camp was a camper at Camp Roy-El, and the dedication and commitment demonstrated by Mr. and Mrs. "B" served as the inspiration for the Apple Dumplin' Camp. It is only fitting then that the first brick in the "Paving the Way Brick by Brick" campaign should honor Roy and Ellen Brigman and the memories of Camp Roy-El.
You, your relatives or friends will have a permanent place in history while supporting the Apple Dumplin' Camp for children with disabilities. Your brick bearing the name or inscription of your choice will be placed in one of three phases of construction. To receive more information or an order form, please email your request to Brick Campaign. Phase One - Bricks sold during this phase will be placed around the flagpole where each day at camp begins and ends, with the raising and lowering of the American Flag. Funds raised (100%) will be applied to the purchase of the land for the permanent camp location. Phase Two - Bricks sold during this phase will be placed as part of the sidewalks at Apple Dumplin' Camp. By using bricks as part of the sidewalks, the 'old west' appearance of Apple Dumplin' Camp will be preserved while providing easy access for campers. Phase Three - Bricks sold during this phase will be placed in the outdoor dining patio area which will adjoin the mess hall. All brick sales are considered Charitable Contributions under the Internal Revenue Code, and all proceeds benefit Apple Dumplin' Camp, a project of Arise and Walk Ministries of New Mexico,Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
